The Origins
In 2024, Peter Kanda, Lorna Misoi, and Shalom Nyende, all from Kenya’s maize producing North West region, have always observed firsthand how soil preparation, moisture levels, temperature, and humidity impacted crop growth, harvesting, drying, storage, and transportation of agricultural produce. They explored using IoT to address these challenges and improve traceability from farm to market.
In the process, they discovered a larger issue—IoT systems in agriculture, storage, and renewable energy were fragmented, with complex architectures. This led to the creation of Trusource, a unified platform simplifying IoT management and providing real-time insights across sectors.
