The Origins
In 2024, Peter Kanda and Shalom Nyende, all from Kenya’s maize producing North West region, have always observed firsthand how soil preparation, moisture levels, temperature, and humidity impacted crop growth, harvesting, drying, storage, and transportation of agricultural produce. They explored using IoT to address these challenges and improve traceability from farm to market.
In the process, they discovered a larger issue, that tracking of critical metrics like temperature, humidity, enery and water consumption in operational dependent sectors like in agriculture, manufacturing, and renewable energy were fragmented, manual and complex. This led to the development of Trusource, a unified platform simplifying metrics tracking and providing real-time insights across sectors.
